Wheelworks CEO pays tribute to Lydia Dalitso Hodgins

Today, Wheelworks Arts (WWA) CEO Farah Chowdhury attended the funeral of Lydia Dalitso Hodgins, a former director at WWA. Lydia died at the young age of 32.

Farah said: “Lydia is a hugely inspirational individual. It was very tough day but showed how she in her short life effortlessly did things to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate. As WWA director, she helped to promote the need for arts engagement amongst the marginalised communities in Northern Ireland. Lydia did not wait for any one she just went with the inner call and lead the path to show how a little support can go a long way. Lydia simply advocated for justness and made us all to reflect on the magic of goodness, which we can all spread and share.”

As well as previously being a director at WWA, Lydia set up the company Localbox and suppoted the charity L’Arch Belfast.
