Mairéad Duffy graduated from the University of Ulster with a BMus Hons and a PGCE in Music Education. As a member of the Belfast Harp Orchestra, she recorded and toured with The Chieftains. She was the featured vocalist in many of these performances, performing at Milwaukee Irish Fest and Carnegie Hall. She won the Nancy Calthorpe Memorial Prize for Irish Harp and Voice at Dublin Feis Ceoil.
Mairéad was Head of Music in St. Patrick’s Academy, Dungannon for twenty-four years. She holds an Artist Teacher Diploma in Choral Music Education with Choral Music Experience. She is a past chair of TOSINI-Teachers of Singing in Ireland and is in great demand as a vocal coach/leader and musical director. Following a successful fundit.ie campaign, and with support from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, she released her debut album ‘Silver Tin House’ as a singer songwriter in 2016. She is artistic and musical director of Gathered Voices, a community choir based in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone.
Mairéad currently works with the National Development Office of Music Generation as Quality, Support and Development Manager.
When not making music, she enjoys reading, the theatre, walking her sprollie Heidi, Crossfit and swimming. A great cup of coffee and a catch-up with friends rank highly too.
A chartered accountant with over 35 years’ experience (mostly in Price Waterhouse Cooper), John has been treasurer at WheelWorks for almost seven years. His responsibilities include financial control, financial reporting, and heading the audit and risk sub-committee. In his spare time, he’s rarely in the country, and gets away as much as he possibly can. It’s not all good news though as he’s also a Leeds supporter with all the associated disappointment that goes with it.
Urbi Banerjee is Senior Project Development Manager in AECOM, Belfast. As part of the architecture team, she is responsible for leading and managing project development activities across all sectors within the company. She has over 24 years of post-architectural experience, having worked as an architect in India and in the UK, including doctoral research experience and teaching activities.
Since completion of her PhD in 2015, Urbi has largely been involved in proposal management, technical writing, business development, research & project intelligence, and is a visiting lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University.
