Wheelworks Arts' Successful Workshop at One Young World 2023 Belfast Summit

Wheelworks Arts was delighted to have delivered a great workshop at the One Young World 2023 Belfast Summit, which is currently taking place.

The workshop was titled "Be a Digital Artist!" It began with a short presentation about digital arts and technology, explaining how the accessibility and scalability of these mediums allowed young people to turn their ideas into reality.

In that digital age, digital literacy was crucial for all of us; embracing digital arts and technology equipped young people with the tools and resources they needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Participants discovered how some of these tools, such as cutting-edge techniques in VR/AR drawing and animation, enhanced creative expression. In the interactive part of the session, they learned how to use their mobile phones to create digital art. They found out how to easily download and use applications that utilized drawing and design techniques to inspire and motivate young people. They entered a collaborative, creative digital space where they uploaded individual images and worked with other delegates to collectively create a large group picture. They also scanned objects or each other to create a 3D image.

By knowing and sharing how to access these digital tools, create digital content, and effectively utilize them for various purposes, such as visual storytelling, graphic design, and multimedia production, participants discovered how to create a dynamic and interactive method of engagement that captured the attention and interests of young people everywhere.
