Empowering Tomorrow: Rural Housing Association Fuels Creativity in Rathfriland Schools

In a groundbreaking initiative, Rural Housing Association (RHA) is spearheading a transformative project in Rathfriland, funding a dynamic film and digital art program for 96 enthusiastic children from Iveagh Primary School (PS) and St Patrick's PS in Hilltown and Rathfriland.

Teaming up with the visionary minds at Wheelworks, renowned artists Kit Rees and Nathan Crothers, supported by the dynamic duo of Jason Parkes and Lauren Martin, are igniting creativity among the students. Far from merely facilitating, RHA is actively championing this endeavor, emphasizing collaboration and skill-building in the process.

The initiative focuses on the themes of Good Relations and shared spaces, blending fun with education to create a unique learning experience. Kit Rees and Nathan Crothers are guiding the children through the entire creative process - from ideation and scripting to directing and acting in their very own mini film and animation masterpieces.

This exciting programme, orchestrated by RHA and generously funded by the Executive Office, underscores the power of arts education in fostering teamwork, imagination, and community spirit. It's not just a project; it's a journey of self-discovery and collaboration that transcends traditional learning boundaries.
