WheelWorks ArtCart Goes Green: Harnessing Solar Power for Creative Engagement

WheelWorks (WWA) ArtCart truck now features solar panels installed to provide power for lighting, heating, air conditioning, and power sockets for groups utilizing the vehicle.

The ArtCart serves as WheelWorks Arts' community engagement programme and refers to a truck converted into a mobile studio space, facilitating creative and artistic activities at various outdoor events.

Groups and communities utilizing the ArtCart will now benefit from environmentally friendly power sources. Previously, internal power for heating and other needs relied on a petrol generator; however, the new panels offer green energy for ArtCart activities.

The installation of these panels underscores WWA's commitment to environmental sustainability, made possible through a generous grant from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Department for Communities.
