Animated GIFS from Illustration

Kerrie shows us how to create unique GIFS from your own illustrations. These small animations can be are great for sharing with friends and family. Here we start with 'wiggly text' so there is no need for 'but I can't draw!' excuses as if you want to draw the principles are the same.

Note: Kerrie is using ProCreate which is a paid for app for the iPad however there are similar functions in other software programmes like Adobe Illustrator (subscription) or animation apps like Flippaclip which is free.

Ed Reynolds is a visual artist and member of the Vault Studios collective in Belfast. He is an experienced painter, caricaturist, illustrator and workshop facilitator.
During our 2020 online festival, Ed’s creative artwork tutorials introduced us to the basic principles of line drawing, composition, perspective and form, shape & colour.

with Jenny Finegan
Jenny studied animation at Ulster University, specialising in 3D computer animation, with knowledge of 3D modelling and rigging. She also has experience with filmmaking and traditional art and drawing and loves film and video games.
These inspiring workshops explore animation in its various forms along with breaking down the key principles to help those who want to get started in a diverse and exciting genre.
